Latest update on Malaysia Fixed Deposit (FD) Rates

Almost all banks in Malaysia are offering investors 2.5% per annum interest rate for 12-month fixed deposit (FD) tenures. These fixed deposit (FD) interest rates are currently some of the highest in the market for March 2009.

Three banks that we know of are giving investors slightly higher interest rates on 12-month fixed deposits (FD).

As at 18 March 2009, the best Malaysia bank FD interest rates are:

(1) Alliance Bank's FDGold fixed deposits account for those age 40 and above is paying 2.6% per annum.

(2) UOB (Malaysia) Bank's Golden Saver fixed deposit account is paying 2.6% per annum.

(3) AmBank Bank's Am50Plus fixed deposit account for citizens age 50 and more is paying 2.55% per annum.

More update on fixed deposits (FD) rates in Malaysia will be given as and when they become available.
